This Privacy Policy describes how The Blend, operated by The Blend ("we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use The Blend mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the Service.

• Account information — your email address and any profile details you choose to provide, such as a display name or username.
• Collection data — bottle details, tasting notes, flavor tags, ratings, pour logs, and infinity bottle records you enter into the app.
• Palate profile — flavor preferences and head-to-head ranking data you provide to personalize your experience.
• Usage data — how you interact with the app, features used, and session information collected automatically.
• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version, used for diagnostics and compatibility.
• Analytics data — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (city/region level). This data is aggregated and anonymous. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Service, including syncing your collection across devices
• To power AI-assisted blending recommendations and the AI Advisor feature
• To personalize your experience based on your palate profile and rankings
• To send you product updates, TestFlight invites, or launch notifications if you have opted in
• To respond to support requests and improve the Service
• To understand how the Service is used so we can make it better

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data Sharing

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers — we use trusted third-party providers to help operate the Service, including cloud infrastructure (Supabase) and analytics (Google). These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Community features — if you choose to publish a blend recipe to the community, that recipe and your username will be visible to other users of the Service. You control what you share.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
• Business transfers — if Unweightd LLC is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy protections.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage and row-level security — meaning your personal collection data is only accessible by you. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Access — you can view your data at any time within the app.
• Correction — you can edit or update your information within the app at any time.
• Deletion — you can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at contact@theblendwhiskey.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
• Opt-out of communications — you can unsubscribe from any marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children and Age Requirements

The Blend is intended for users who are 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we become aware that we have collected information from a user under 21, we will delete it promptly.

Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as affiliate retail partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and notify you of material changes via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
